Both modern medicine & psychology have always pointed out the importance and need for a good healthy self esteem.
Satanism has always seemed to be an exemplary philosophy for its attributes to self esteem/personal ego.
However there have been many recent medical confirmations that people w/too high of a self esteem/ego can be self damaging and is starting to seriously be looked into as a disorder(no doubt that Satanists take up a well endowed majority of these people;)
An oversized ego creates problems such as arrogance, leading antisocial behavior(which is fine,if YOU are fine w/it..not just telling yourself,"Oh,I don't like to socialize anyhow") Financial, jobs, relationships etc...It trickles right on down the line to everything your life consists of.
All trickling down again from the aforementioned leading to stress and depression.
Satanism encourages exceptional self esteem and is probably thee premier philosophy where ego is concerned in not just my opinion alone.
Lets keep in mind though the rule "indulgence, not compulsion" does not pertain solely to simple physical compulsions as many are mislead to believe.
A good and wise(not wise ass, mind you ;)Satanist knows how to avoid biting off more than he/she is able to chew, knows his/her limits and is able to learn from mistakes and not to repeat them!
Unfortunately,in Satanism,as I am sure nearly all can agree, there lies a problem w/a misinterpretation of a "strong ego" and ends up translating to an over blown one at that.
This problem has completely engulfed a majority of us out there.
Stupidity causes problems and has unhealthy results.
We are supposed to be inquisitive and bright, therefore before studying psychologies, philosophies and such, one should study him/herself as well and give credit ONLY where it is due as opposed to where it has yet to be accomplished.
This will also in addition save oneself from taking a hardhitting blow to ones personal ego when the over endowed proverbial "balloon has been popped".
This will also keep one striving in pursuit of betterment and promote creativity and self rewarding acknowdgement of certain well deserved accomplishments,in turn pushing the Satanist to live up to his/her philosophical definition and continue to move forward.
The average Satanist spends far too much time criticizing the world around him/her and very little time criticizing him/herself.
Fix this problem and all else should begin falling into place ;)
